Karen Lunney’s passion is for providing leaders with solid scaffolding for their practical experiences of ministry – both at an academic level with the university courses and in the many workshops and non accredited training events she has run.
She is an accredited teacher with the Victorian Institute of Teaching, holds a working with children check, and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
Her experience includes working as a lecturer with Broken Bay Institute (University of Newcastle) and as both a Lecturer in Charge and tutor with the Australian Catholic University. She developed the unit “Introduction to Youth Ministry” for ACU, and is currently revising each of the eight BBI Youth Ministry units in time for their presentation over the next couple of years. In 2013, she will be teaching the “Sacred Journey” course – an academic and theological reflection on World Youth Day Pilgrimage.
Her work is also appreciated internationally, with online youth ministry specialisation courses in the dioceses of Baton Rouge, Raleigh and Youngstown, provided by Ministry Training Source.
Karen Lunney has a background in primary school teaching (Dip Teach ’92) and after working as both a full time and casual relief teacher in Sydney, she followed her volunteering passion in ministry into a paid position.
Karen is available for Casual Relief Teaching within the Bendigo area.
